this guide walks you through connecting your humaans instance to bindbee before you begin you need a humaans account with permission to create api access tokens the set of scopes that can be assigned to an api token is bounded by the effective permissions of the user creating the token generating your humaans api access token step 1 log in to humaans and click the three dots beside your profile icon in the top left corner step 2 click api access tokens step 3 if you already have a saved token you want to reuse, use that otherwise click generate new token step 4 give the token a descriptive name, such as bindbee , and select the following scopes view public data view public and private data modify public and private data view compensations modify compensations step 5 click create access token step 6 copy the token and save it somewhere secure on your machine humaans displays the token once, so if you navigate away without copying it, you will need to generate a new one step 7 paste the token into the bindbee prompt and submit note the read scopes are what bindbee needs to sync employee, employment, and compensation records the modify scopes are only required if you are writing data back into humaans if your use case is read only, you can safely leave the two modify scopes unselected, but a token created without them will need to be regenerated if you add write back later troubleshooting symptom likely cause authentication fails the token was truncated on copy, or it has since been revoked in humaans employees sync but compensation is empty the token was created without view compensations you cannot select the certain scopes your own humaans permissions do not have that access ask an admin to create the token instead
