This guide walks you through connecting your TriNet HR instance to Bindbee.

### Before you begin

You need **Admin** permissions in your company's TriNet instance, or access shared with you by an admin.

### Generating your TriNet API token

**Step 1:** Open **Company Profile**, under **Admin Apps**.

**Step 2:** Click **Custom Integrations**.

**Step 3:** Under ***Service Users***, select **Add Token**.

**Step 4:** Configure the permissions you want to grant, then press **Save**.

**Step 5:** Click the **eye** icon to reveal the API token, then copy it.

**Step 6:** Paste the token into the Bindbee prompt.

### Selecting your TriNet domain

**Step 7:** Select the domain that matches your TriNet API environment:

| **Domain**         | **Use when**                          |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------- |
| `api.zenefits.com` | You are on legacy Zenefits API access |
| `api.trinet.com`   | You are on TriNet API access          |

If you are unsure, check the URL you use to sign in. An instance still serving \`zenefits\` in the URL generally maps to the legacy domain. If the first choice fails validation, try the other before raising a ticket.

**Step 8:** Submit. Bindbee validates the token against the selected domain and begins the first sync once it passes.

### Troubleshooting

| **Symptom**                                     | **Likely cause**                                                                               |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Token validates on one domain but not the other | The wrong API environment was selected. Switch between `api.zenefits.com` and `api.trinet.com` |
| The API is returning partial data               | The required scopes were not granted during authorization                                      |
